Strassen Marriage Indexes Added

Bride and Groom marriage indexes for the commune of Strassen have been added for the years 1800-1823 and 1850-1923.  The commune includes the village of Reckenthal. Strassen was included in the commune of Bertrange for the years 1824-1849.

Bride and Groom marriage indexes for the commune of Bertrange have been added for the years 1799-1923.  The commune includes the villages of Bouferterhof, Niderterhof, Reckenthal an Tossenberg along with Strassen for the years 1824-1849.

Rumelange Marriage Indexes added

Bride and Groom marriage indexes for the commune of Rumelange have been added for the years 1891-1923.  The commune of Rumelange was created in 1891 when it was split from the commune of Kayl.  Marriages prior to 1891 would appear in the indexes for Kayl.

Many Italian immigrants were married in this commune as well as residents of the village of Ottange just over the border in France.

Differdange Marriage Indexes Updated

The bride and groom marriage indexes for Differdange, Luxembourg have been extended through 1923.  Each index is now 95 pages and contains 4,066 marriages from 1797-1923.

Differdange was a mining town and many laborers came from Germany and Italy to work there.  Numerous marriages for German and Italian immigrants are recorded in these indexes.
